Tai Chi Qigong

Tai Chi Qigong (pronounced Ty-Gee Chee-Gong)is all things to all people. Originating in the East, it is at one and the same time, a martial art, a spiritual practice, and a gateway to healing and wholeness. Based on an ancient healing philosophy that meridians (energy circuits) circulate energy to our organs, illness or wellness can be determined by the flow or the blockage of “chi” (energy) through our bodies.

Tai Chi Qigong restores balance and harmony to our mind, body and spirit.

It also relieves stress and depression, revitalizes our organs, and restores our spirit. The flowing movements of Tai Chi Qigong bring us into the balance and harmony that is necessary to flow with the unpredictable movements of life.

Tai Chi/Qigong teaches us to hold and transform the tensions of opposites which is indeed the energy of creation and the heart of all spirituality.

Eight Brocades

Eight Brocades is one of the oldest and most commonly practiced Qigong exercises.

Comprised of eight movements, this exercise has been said to impart a silken quality to the body as it opens, cleanses and stimulates energy in the heart, lungs, liver, kidney, digestive system, nervous system, immune system neck, shoulder and back.

Fanny Ng is the artful instructor in the following video. Should you wish to practice Eight Brocades, take your time to learn the movements. Be patient and repeat the exercise daily or several times a week so that the learning will eventually move from your head into body memory.
